Basically we come across two types of capacitors that are Polarized and Non Polarized while Studying Electrical Subjects. The main Difference Between these Capacitors as follows
1)Polarized Capacitors:
1)Polarized Capacitors:
- These are mainly Electrolytic Capacitors (Like Example Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors).
- They can hold large amount of energy
- In The two terminals of Capacitor,One terminal should always be more positive than the other terminal.
2)Non Polarized Capacitors:
- Their names Based upon the type dielectric material that goes into the capacitors (Like Example Ceramic Dielectric capacitors)
- They are using in determining the frequency of a particular element,Decoupling of a electric circuit,Power tuning etc.
- There is no Restriction, either of the terminal can be more positive than the other terminal at any given point of time.
